i've been sick the past few days (first time in 2yrs...) & when you can't do much of anything i guess you eventually want to get back to your neglected website... cough cough. lots to talk about, lots has happened...

➤ i'm very close to finishing my library studies course! just a couple more units... i thought i would be finished around now - i can't count it seems - but one more term isn't so bad. i did my placement at a local library a few months back & they offered me some casual work, it's been so wild having a job i genuinely like.

➤ had my name on a list of contributors for a local exhibition, i made a zine that was part of the event... truthfully, it was in a style that's not something i would usually make, but i think it turned out nice & it was cool to participate.

➤ tabled at my first "convention" aka not a zine fair. granted, it was a small-ish local con, but still!

➤ after much research & scouring forums/reddit, i bought a camera. i got a sony nex-c3; it's a compact mirrorless camera, which suits my needs. i'll be travelling next year (more on that later..) & i didn't want to rely on my phone or lug around my parents bulky 2006-era canon dslr. it has some really fun features, i'm going to play around with it over summer. it's also hot pink (she's That girl).

➤ if all goes to plan... i'll be studying & living in kyoto for 3 months next year? i've wanted to do an intensive japanese language course for a while (i've been saving), & after pushing it back for 2yrs it looks like it'll be happening, which hasn't quite sunk in yet... i'm excited & nervous! ahh!

there's probably things i've forgotten, highly likely i'll come back later to add an edit like "how did i forget that?" but i thiiiink these are the most pressing life updates (that i feel comfortable sharing here).
